Matza Ball Soup!
After months of research, we are proud to announce that we know where to get the best matza ball soup anywhere! The Kitchen Table on Castro Street opened this summer and is the only kosher restaurant Mountain View, possibly the only full service kosher restaurant north of Los Angeles. We’ve tried several different items on the menu and are always drawn to the Chicken Matza Ball soup. We recommend that you start off with a bowl of the special matza ball soup and then order the Pastrami on homemade rye bread. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is exquisitely arranged on the plate and looks fit-for-a-king.
Until The Kitchen Table opened, residents of Mountain View weren’t able to enjoy kosher food at any of the restaurants on Castro Street. We’ve seen their matza ball soup mentioned in several online discussions, so we had to try it for ourselves. Talk about comfort food, it’s just like your Jewish grandmother would have made for you (assuming that you have a Jewish grandmother) on a rainy afternoon, but it’s way better and not as heavy! We particularly like the interior of the restaurant. Somehow, slurping soup under a crystal chandelier makes it so much more sophisticated.
You might need to make reservations since this fabulous new restaurant is so popular. All of the food is kosher and there’s an emphasis on California style food with a bit of a Latin twist. 
We also love that we sometimes see the Chef walking around our farmer’s market on Sundays looking for the absolute freshest veggies for his recipes. So go make reservations and prepare to have the best matza ball soup you have ever had! You’ll thank us.
Kitchen Table is soooooo delicious!! I haven’t tried the Matzo Ball soup yet but their Heirloom Vegetable/Grain lunch is AMAZING!!!
