Mountain View General Store
I went to the opening of the Mountain View General Store today. It’s a small shop across the street from Dana Street Roasting Company. The owner, Tina Ambrogi, has lived in Mountain View for 17 years. She sells t-shirts with several iconic logos from the around Mountain View. She has plans of adding lots of other types of merchandise soon, including baby clothes, dog leashes and extended sizes of the adult t-shirts, all with Mountain View logos on them. She’s really open to bringing in whatever kind of merchandise people request.
She has her merchandise designed and printed in Mountain View and she’s really focused on keeping everything as local as possible. Her enthusiasm is contagious and I’m pretty sure that eventually she will out-grow the small store that she’s in right now. I can see her moving to a store front right on Castro Street in the future.
In a city where the average work uniform is a t-shirt and jeans, I think that Mountain View General Store is going to be really successful. Everyone needs a t-shirt that says “Mountain View” on it! I put mine on as soon as I paid for it and I wore it out of the store.
