Such a Wee Little Park

Tuesday, 21 Jul 2009

mv-photos-001It’s the tiniest park in town, but that’s just because it’s still just a baby. When it grows up, it’ll be as big and strong as Cuesta Park. That’s what we tell it anyway, but the truth is that it’s not going to get any bigger and we adore it because it’s the smallest park in town. Dana Park is located at the intersection of Dana Street and Shoreline, right along the side of the Fire Station. It has some impressive artwork that reminds us of a scaled down version of Stonehenge. Before you go to the wee-little park, stop by Neto Caffé and Bakery on Castro something for everyone to nibble on. mv-photos-003Our favorite is the Chicken Pizza that they make in their brick oven. Remember, tell everyone to take tiny little bites at the tiny little park.

  1. Neto’s Cafe: nicest people in the world, nicest eats, too, at very reasonable prices. Outdoor seating under the trees is lovely too.

  2. I love the chocolate babka at Neto Caffe.

  3. Small park, tiny bites of pizza!!!!!

  4. Coco- That pizza is the BEST!
Honor- “Pocket Park” is a perfect description.

  5. I love Dana Park!! Another best kept secret, one of those gems hidden in plain sight!! Its right next to the MV Fire Station No. 1, located on the former grounds of the old Dana Street (elementary) School. Its what I’d describe as a “pocket park”, small and passive in use in the sense that there are no play facilities/equipment, just a lovely little verdant glen where you wouldn’t expect to be able to sit ‘n rest your weary feet and soul. Check it out!!

  6. i gotta go try that chicken pizza!
