The Official Coffeecake of Mountain View
If you’ve lived in this area for any time at all, you already know that everyone loves Hobee’s Blueberry Coffeecake. If you’re new to the area, you need to know about this delectable cake that is a fundamental part of our diet. Many of us go to Hobee’s especially for the Coffeecake and end up having a “Mountain View Special Omelet” or a “Super Veggie Scramble” on the side. A few of us have even been known to order an entire pan of the Coffeecake to take home or bring to an office meeting.
Whatever your situation is, we thought you should know that Hobee’s Blueberry Coffeecake has been voted the Official Coffeecake of Mountain View. We researched the situation and even tried to duplicate the recipe. None of us were able to come up with anything nearly as incredible as the coffeecake that Hobee’s has been making since 1974. So we voted and the verdict was unanimous.
We also want to brag just a bit that even though there are 9 Hobee’s locations, Mountain View has the original. It feels like home with houseplants, vintage décor and the smell of bacon and eggs. Hobee’s is just another reason that we love Mountain View.
Um, the recipe was published by Hobee’s in the 70′s on a promo flyer…it is all over the web.

Danger, danger!! This is without a doubt, the best, the lightest (well, OK, light in texture, not necessarily in calories) coffee cake in the area, maybe even in the entire Santa Clara County, the state probablly!! So here’s a suggestion: walk to Hobee’s, have your fill, and then walk it off on the return.
