Doing Good By Eating Well
Community Services Agency feeds the hungry in our community and provides numerous other services to those in need. We, as a community, need to do all that we can to support them because they’re providing such a necessary service to Mountain View.
One way that many community residents have shown support in the past is by participating in the Chefs-Who-Care program. It’s a monthly dinner that is held at different restaurants around the community and half of the price of your dinner is donated to Community Services Agency.
The success of this ongoing program led to another idea, a restaurant card. It is a “Community Cares Dine-Out Card” that you can use for an entire year to get discounts at 14 different restaurants in the Mountain View, Sunnyvale and Los Altos area. The card is $24.00 and it’s easily possible to save several hundred dollars by using it over the course of a year, depending on how often you eat out. You can use it over and over again!
The card has 14 restaurants on it and the discounts include $10 off dinner at Sakoon, buy-one-dinner at Hobee’s get-one-free, a free pint of beer with the purchase of dinner at Tied House and 10% off dinner at Vaso Azzurro. You get a discount on your dinner, the restaurant gets more customers, and Community Services Agency clients get some much needed support for their Food and Nutrition Center at Community Services Agency.
The restaurants that are participating in this wonderful program are: Amarin Thai, Beausejour, Canana Bistro & Bar, Estrellita Restaurant, Hobee’s, Hunan Chili, Gelayo Gusto, Ginseng Korean BBQ & Tofu, Rok Bistro Fondue and Steakhouse, Sakoon Restaurant, Tarragon, Tied House, Vaso Azzurro, and Vive Sol.
