KwickCart comes to Mountain View
A KwickCart is an adorable pedicab that can whisk you up and down Castro Street or any of the nearby downtown areas for FREE. They debuted in Mountain View last summer for the Thursday Night Live events. The cab rides were outrageously popular during those hot summer evenings.
I rode in one and my driver took me down Castro Street, through the middle of the Park Place Apartment complex behind Starbucks and then we circled around Eagle Park. I wasn’t trying to go anyplace in particular; I was just out for a spin with Janet. The driver was happy to amuse us with a ride. He even jumped out and snapped our photo as the sun was setting.
I’m so pleased to hear that KwickCarts was able to set-up shop in Mountain View. The cabs will mostly be on Castro Street, but they can go from El Camino to Evelyn and from Shoreline Blvd to Calderon. They can take you to or from the train station as well.
The rides are free, but please tip your adorable driver. Advertising is available on the carts, as well as coupons and promotional information. Of course, riders are free to help themselves to restaurant coupons and I’m sure that KwickCart would love for local businesses to participate. To get in touch with KwickCart about advertising or just to tell them how happy you are that they came to Mountain View, go to their fanpage on Facebook http://www.Facebook.com/KwickCart.
For the month of January, there will be KwickCarts out on Friday and Saturday evenings. If the community wants them out more often, we are asked to write something on their Facebook page to let them know. Remember that they’re new to Mountain View and their schedule is very flexible. They need us to tell them how much we love pedicab rides and they’ll be happy to appear more often.
