Marry Me in Mountain View

shoreline-park-trailSo you two are finally engaged! Congratulations. Now it’s time to plan the big day. We have a couple different options for you in this category.

Plan A: The Rengstorff House is a beautiful Victorian house in Shoreline Park. It would be a spectacular location for your ceremony, as well as the reception. Since you and your sweetie enjoy going out for Mediterranean food; wouldn’t it be nice to feed your guests some shwarma or kebabs? Yes. Order the famous Chicken Shish Kebabs from Mediterranean Grill House on Castro Street. To rent chairs, tables and probably all kinds other things that you haven’t even thought of yet, go to the Stuart Rentals showroom on Old Middlefield. Call Floratique to make an appointment with Master Designer Yvonne for the perfect bouquets. For the most unique selection of wedding favors, go to Beau-Coup. They are an online store that’s based right here in Mountain View. global-beadssmallerCheck out the custom-made pearl and swarovski necklaces at Global Beads. For a wedding cake, we recommend Sugar, Butter, Flour. We taste-tested a few (a few dozen) of their cupcakes and they are incredible. Now get started; you’ve got a lot of work to do before the big day.

Plan B: Or you can do it fast and cheap! Go to Nobhill and pickup a cute little bouquet and a dozen cupcakes.  Get a matching pair of sterling silver rings at Global Beads on Castro Street. They can order a matching pair for you. Don’t worry about hiring a photographer; just be sure to bring along a friend with a camera/cell phone. For your dress just go to Marshalls.  Here are some pointers on getting the marriage license at the County Clerk’s Office. Hire either a clergyman or an authorized California wedding officiant to do the ceremony. Go to the Gathering Guide to find the wedding officiant if you don’t already have one. Find a beautiful spot along the trail in Shoreline Park to have your short-n-sweet ceremony. As long as you only have about ten guests, you won’t need a permit, but you didn’t want a big wedding anyway. Ten guests are perfect! rengstoff-houseThen have everyone head over to Michael’s at Shoreline for a toast on the patio to your new married life. Cupcakes for everyone and you’re done! Wow, that was so easy! Congratulations.
