Romantic Destinations
Curious about the most romantic destinations in Mountain View? I have a few of my favorites here. Please feel free to add to the list since everyone might have a different idea about what “romantic” means.
- Stevens Creek Trail is a beautiful place to take a stroll. Here’s a link to the most up-to-date information about the trail expansion. And here’s the most recent map of the trail. Thank you to ‘Friends of Stevens Creek Trail.’
- The lake at ‘Shoreline at Mountain View’ is another nice location to enjoy the great outdoors with your special someone. There are pedal boats, rowboats, canoes, kayaks, and bicycles for rent to anyone and if you are properly qualified, you can rent a sailboat or windsurfer.
- As far as romantic Italian food, Ristorante Don Giovanni is the perfect place. Crab cakes, ravioli and grilled rack of lamb are all the perfect way to someone’s heart.
- Tour of the Bay Area from a blimp! Technically, it’s called a “Zeppelin.” Airship Ventures is based at Moffet Field in Mountain View. They have several different tours, including 30 minutes up to a 2 hour flight or even a one way trip down to Long Beach. It’s not cheap, but then again, neither are you, right?
- What’s more romantic than a Valentines Day massage? Amy Pontzloff of Lymphatic Face and Body Therapy is amazing and she offers all different styles of massage and facial treatments, including ‘Hot Stone Massage’ and ‘Thai Massage.’ Amy has had extensive international training and she’s very well-respected in our area.
- Hakone Gardens in Saratoga is one of the most beautiful places in the Bay Area. I know that the name of this website is “I Love Mountain View’ but occasionally I recommend places that aren’t necessarily within our city. We don’t have our own Japanese Tea garden and I’m pretty sure that Saratoga won’t mind sharing with us. Besides, the man that used to be the head gardener at Hakone Gardens used to live in Mountain View and his yard was incredible!
- What’s more sexy that yoga? Nothing! Yoga Belly is the newest yoga studio in Mountain View. Ask for William. He can help you and your Valentine find the perfect class to fit your schedules.
Happy Valentines Day.

Hakone Gardens looks amazing! I can’t believe I haven’t heard of it
Thanks Amy. I’m no blimp expert, obviously. I just do my best to find interesting things to write about. Heidi
A blimp has no internal structure but a Zeppelin does (so if you pop a hole in it, the Zeppelin will mostly keep its shape but a blimp will collapse on the ground).
There are only 3 Zeppelins in the world, including the one right here in Mountain View.
If you are married, with young children, simply getting out of the house without them is romantic! A picnic at Cuesta Park is always nice.
I never would have thought of Airship Ventures. Thanks for the suggestion.
