Super-Cala-Frugalistic Date
We’re talkin’ low budget! Just think—if you can get by with a $5 date, you can afford to go on ten times more dates than the next guy!
This first step is going to take some planning ahead, but then you’ll be set. You’re going to grow your own rose bush so that you don’t have to buy flowers for your dates. We recommend Orchard Supply Hardware because we really like that they have a “Lifetime Plant Guarantee.” If your plant should turn brown and die, just go back to Osh with the receipt and the dead rosebush, and they’ll replace it. That’s just so dang nice of them.
Pick a rose and present her with the frugal-floral and assure her it’ll be a date she’ll never forget. The evening begins at Costco. That’s right, Costco. You can get a high-end hotdog with all the necessary condiments and a large soda with free refills for $1.50! That’s dinner for two for a mere three bucks. Of course you do need a membership card to get in the door. If you don’t have one, perhaps you can borrow from a friend. Then head over to the Red Rock Coffee Shop for their Monday Night Open Mike. Admission is free, although you are obligated to purchase a drink—at least one! Sip very slowly. The performers are quite entertaining and if you get there by 6:30, you can put your name on the list to perform and amaze your date. And she will be amazed.
Another frugal idea—check the events calendar at Books Inc for upcoming free talks by authors. Gee, you’re slick and frugal is so cool.

Stumbling around looking for ideas for tonight. Great article…just bookmarked it :)
Heidi:
This is a great website. Wonderful topics and format.
This should be a winner.
Thanks,
Pam
…oh yeah, ‘n don’t forget the Thursday nights on Castro Street during the summer; also, the free movie nights in the parks (look in the Voice for schedules.) And, of course, there’s always plenty of good people watching on Castro Street, while strolling along, sampling some of that super delicious gelato!! Good bookstore browsing at Printer’s Ink, Book Publishers and East West Books, not to mention our world-class library with a wonderful inventory of books, DVD’s and tapes…all free!!
Better still, cruise through Costco and stock up on all the free samples—then use the $1.50 savings on something really special!
Great website, Heidi! Now that I’m retiring, I’ll know just where to go to find out what’s happening in Mountain View.
I LOVE MOUNTAIN VIEW!
