Make a Donation to Local Schools
I wrote something about Pago a few months ago. It’s an app that allows people to make purchases using their smart phones. They were introduced to our community at the Mountain View Art & Wine Festival. We could buy beer (or wine or a variety of food items at the festival) with a cell phone and not stand in line—just show up and grab the cold beer. It was really successful at the festival and Mountain View loved it.
They’re getting even more involved in our community. Now we can use Pago to help support our local schools. I love that they’re making it so easy for us to use familiar technology to make a donation to our schools. Most of us have lots of apps and play with them all the time, and now we can use one of them to do something good for the community… not that there’s anything wrong with wasting time on Angry Birds or Hanging With Friends.
Now through October 23 we can make purchases using the Pago app at select merchants and up to 20% of the purchase price will be donated to the Mountain View Whisman School District. The Mountain View Whisman School District includes Bubb, Landels, Huff, Castro, Monta Loma, Stevenson, Theuerkauf, Crittenden, Graham, and Slater Preschool. If your school isn’t listed here and you think it should be, contact your principal.
The merchants that are participating in this are Baskin Robbins, Las Muchachas, NY Pizza, Gelayo Gusto, Lucky, Lucky Grant, Pearl, Quiznos, and Bajis Café. You can download the Pago app to your phone (via your app store), buy an ice cream cone and make a donation to your favorite school today. It’s really a fun idea and it feels good to give back to the community.

Not too often is a community given the opportunity to support our local schools. We need to step up to the opportunity and make a difference! Thank you Mountain View of Chamber & Heidi for supporting Pago and our local community.
