The NASA Exploration Center is a must for the entire family! Check out astronaut suits and helmets, and pieces of meteorites. Watch a video of experiments astronauts did while in outer-space, including drinking tea with chopsticks and see what happens to Alka-Seltzer in a weightless environment—after all, even an astronaut could get an upset tummy! Sport a pair of 3-D glasses and examine the surface of Mars. Peek inside the unmanned space capsule that launched in 1960. And one of the best parts is that you can get real astronaut food in the gift shop! Yummy, freeze dried ice cream sandwiches are hard as a rock and bone-dry, but fun to play with! And after that you might be in to mood for some real ice cream treats. Go to Gelay Gusto on the El Camino near Castro. For gelato, yogurt, or shaved ice, this is the hip new place to go. Dr. George tells us that the Pistachio gelato is his favorite, but he doesn’t want anyone else to know or there might not be any left for him.
