I went on a tour of Montrose Apartments on the corner of El Camino and Mariposa. I remember waiting and waiting for something wonderful to happen on that corner and it’s finally here. If you just got a job in Mountain View, or you are thinking of moving here, you should definitely check out this gorgeous complex.
As I write this, it is 56% leased and filling quickly. The model apartment that I looked at faced the El Camino. The giant windows and extra high ceiling (10 feet) made the rooms seem bright and spacious. It has covered parking, which saves on how often you wash your car. The pool, hot tub, outdoor showers, a fire pit and outdoor kitchen area are in the center of the complex. The Fitness Center is right off the pool area and all of the new equipment and machines are squeaky clean and have the latests whistles and bells.
I played around with the interactive map in the Leasing Office and checked out the floor plans on the apartments that are available. What stuck me about Montrose Apartments is that the “neighbors” (that’s what they call the residents and it sounds so much friendlier than “tenants”) get to enjoy an entire community. The clubhouse lounge and theater is a space where you hang out and work from your laptop, chat with others, socialize and enjoy the view. And the rooftop terrace has an beautiful view, lots of shaded seating, and it just puts you in a friendly mood. How can you not talk about how incredibly beautiful the view is with the people around you? You would meet so many new people! That might be something very beneficial if you just arrived in Silicon Valley.
Montrose is in a part of Mountain View where you could walk to lots of different restaurants, 2 different drug stores, Cost Plus World Market, and many other businesses that you would regularly frequent. It’s also halfway between 280 and 101, and a VTA stop is on the corner.
Look at their website for lots more details. They also have electric car charging stations and a car sharing program. You could actually live there and not own a car and it would be okay. This is the new Mountain View. Out with that old Tropicana Lodge and the steak house restaurant that no one ever went to, and in with a well designed, beautiful living space for more brilliant people who are being recruited to our city from all over the world. I love Mountain View.
