Mountain View Art & Wine Festival: Three Changes That You'll Want To Know About
The Mountain View Art & Wine Festival is Sept 7th and 8th, 2019. There are three changes to the festival that I wanted to share with you.
The biggest change is that Kids Park, and the Facebook Community Stage, which are normally in the Wells Fargo parking lot, will be on Mercy Street. The Xfinity Pigskin Party Lounge, which is usually on Mercy Street, will be in the Wells Fargo parking lot. That’s right, Kids Park and the football fans, are swapping places with each other.
All of the Kids Park action, the bungee jumping, waterballerz, rock climbing, monster inflatables, henna art, glitter tattoos, face painting, create-your-own bracelets, all of it will be on Mercy Street, beside Bank of the West. The Facebook Community Stage, will be there too. It features young local performers in a “Mountain View’s Got Talent” style showcase.
Another cool change is that there will be PathWater refillable aluminum water bottles sold, instead of plastic water bottles. They’re $3 and really nice looking. “The purest, reverse osmosis filtered water, packaged in a naturally beautiful, affordable vessel that is truly kind to the Earth” it says on their website. Totally the kind of thing you’ll want to reuse. Someone already told me she was going to fill her’s with wine. That works too.
And the last big change is that there will be a VIP Volunteer Lounge at Amici’s Pizza on Castro, instead of the volunteer-appreciation party that was held at Shoreline Amphitheater. Lots of the volunteers were unable to attend that party, so the Chamber reimagined the way they celebrate and thank their volunteers, and the new VIP Lounge is the plan. All the volunteers will get a swag bag, food and drinks, and there will be a drawing for a $500 Visa gift card.
Here’s a link if you want to volunteer to pour wine or beer at the festival. Here’s directions and a map. And here’s some info about car and bike parking. Public transportation works too: MVgo, VTA, Mountain View Community Shuttle, and Caltrain will all get you to the festival.
The Festival is September 7-8, 2019 – Saturday 11am to 7pm, and Sunday 10am to 6pm.
