The Return of Rose Market
Everyone at the office today walked to Rose International Market for lunch. The store has been open for about 2 months. This is definitely a new and improved Rose Market. I’m so happy that the developer, Greystar, gave the small merchants that were previously on that piece of property, the opportunity to return.
If you live at Elan, Rose Market will be your favorite new restaurant. According to their website, they also do catering. The new store is bright and clean and organized, and already has plenty of customers.
I was happy to see the return of the same menu and since we went there on a Friday, I got to have the special Shirin Polo rice, that they only make once a week. It has orange peel, saffron, pistachios, almonds, and barberries. Everyone in my group ordered some kind of chicken item and then we wandered the store for 15 or 20 minutes while our lunches were being made.
The meat counter is bigger than it used to be and they had a nice selection of halal meat.
In addition to my lunch, I always get a bottle of the yogurt drink, and package of the baklava from Diamond Bakery. It’s made in Fremont. It’s a favorite in my house.
After you order and pay for your meal, you go outside and pick it up from the window, just like the old location. Locals love that the new store still has the same pick-up window.
The staff was friendly and helpful. I recognized some of them from the old store. I’m really so happy that this place is open again! The Mountain View Voice wrote about it reopening. And also Palo Alto Online. It’s big news around here.
Rose Market is at 801 W El Camino Real, Mountain View.
