The Chamber Team Checked Out the New Ameswell Hotel! And You Should Too!
The Mountain View Chamber of Commerce team took a visit to the new Ameswell Hotel a few weeks ago. One thing we really want the community to know is that is it so much more than a hotel. It isn’t just a destination for out of towners to spend the night. It really is a community hub. I had a really nice stay this past weekend at the Ameswell. I spent a lovely afternoon relaxing by the pool, followed by a delicious dinner at their restaurant. The breakfast at the Flyby was so good I'd go back for just that! My room was very nice - remained dark and quiet. Bathroom was great and the shower had really good shower pressure. The wifi was good and I was able to do the worked I needed to. Huge TV too! Love the little touches like the robes provided making for a cozy stay.
The Ameswell this month in Silicon Valley, which is a new design + tech-oriented hotel that will offer the first cool stay option in Mountain View. With interiors by critically acclaimed SF-based BAMO, multiple food & beverage venues, tech-forward amenities, and a world-class art collection, the brand new 255 room independent property was conceptualized to provide a centralized communal hub for both travelers and locals.
Dispersed on the grounds are the hotel’s three restaurants: Roger, the hotel’s main restaurant and oversized bar features seasonal California cuisine married with Mediterranean flavors along with craft cocktails and wine on tap, and boasts a light-filled open lay-out design with garage-style doors connecting the indoor/outdoor seating for easy access to the area’s beautiful weather; the Flyby, a quick and casual all day lobby café offering everything from coffee to made-to-order and grab-and-go meals; and the Airstream Bar, a retrofitted vintage trailer serving up casual Cali-inspired cuisine intended to enjoy outdoors by the pool, lawn, or fire pit. The beverage program, concepted by James Beard winner Shelley Lindgren and her husband Greg, focuses on wines from nearby small producers, while the cocktails feature unique techniques inspired by NASA astronauts. As the first hotel to feature robot servers, the restaurants are extremely tech-forward, boasting top of the line kitchen equipment with precise food temperature programming for quality control and technology to reduce food waste, and offering the ease of touchless ordering and payment options through mobile phones.
Be sure to dine at the restaurant Roger Bar & Restaurant. Helmed by Executive Chef Christian McCallion (previously of Larkspur Restaurant & Events), Roger brings a refreshing culinary viewpoint to Mountain View, serving elevated yet casual California-style cuisine that focuses on Mediterranean flavors. The bar-forward restaurant features roll up garage-style doors, creating an inviting indoor/outdoor space that embraces Silicon Valley’s ideal year-round weather, while the wing-shaped bar serves as the restaurant’s focal point and a welcoming area to congregate. Roger highlights local and regional ingredients through partnerships with local farms, ranches, and dairies, including The Midwife and The Baker’s bread, Mary’s Chicken, and Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program. Roger’s menu emphasizes boldly marinated proteins, seasonal vegetables with bright salads, plus signature shared plates and bar snacks. The beverage program, curated by James Beard winner Shelley Lindgren and her husband Greg, focuses on wines from small producers and family-owned wineries, while the cocktails feature unique techniques inspired by NASA astronauts, along with 16 tapped beverage selections ranging from local craft beers and west coast centric wines to in-house kegged cocktails. In the tech-focused spirit of Silicon Valley, The Ameswell is the first hotel to showcase Bear Robotic’s Servi, a self-driving indoor delivery robot at Roger, while top of the line kitchen equipment has precise food temperature programming for quality control and to reduce food waste, and guests can order and pay for their food through the ease of their mobile phones.
